The Designer

Jen O'Hara

For nearly two decades, I've had the privilege of helping clients transform their houses into homes—spaces that feel authentically theirs, where beauty and everyday life coexist in harmony.

My path to interior design wasn't linear. After years in [previous field], I found myself increasingly drawn to the way spaces shape how we feel, work, and connect with the people we love. That curiosity became a calling, and eventually, a career I pour my heart into every day.

What drives me is the belief that a home should never feel precious or untouchable. Yes, I obsess over proportions, fabrics, and the perfect shade of white—but always in service of creating rooms where you can actually curl up with a book, where children can play, where the dog is welcome on the sofa.

"I believe the best interiors tell a story—your story. Not a showroom, not a trend report, but a reflection of how you actually live and what you truly love."

Design Philosophy

An Approach Built on Listening

Every project begins with conversation. Before we discuss colors or furniture, I want to understand how you start your mornings, where you gather with family, what frustrates you about your current space. These details shape everything that follows.

I'm drawn to interiors that feel collected rather than decorated—rooms that look like they evolved over time, filled with pieces that have meaning. This means blending antiques with contemporary furniture, mixing high and low, and always choosing quality over quantity.

While I appreciate timeless elegance, I never want a space to feel like a museum. Homes are meant to be lived in. The wear on a vintage table, the patina on brass hardware, the softness of well-loved linen—these are the details that make a house feel like home.

Working Together

A Collaborative Process

My clients often describe me as calm, collaborative, and detail-obsessed (in a good way). I take the stress out of the design process so you can enjoy watching your home transform. From initial concept through final styling, I'm there every step of the way.

Based in the New York area, I work with clients throughout Connecticut, Westchester, and Manhattan. Whether you're renovating a historic home, decorating a new build, or simply refreshing a room that isn't working, I'd love to hear about your project.
